Who we are
The HPV Cancer Campaign raises awareness of HPV, cervical cancer screening, the HPV vaccine and HPV-associated cancers. This website is hpvcancercampaign.co.uk. For anything about your personal information, please get in touch through our Contact page.
The short version
- You can read this website without giving us any personal information.
- We only collect details you choose to send us through our forms.
- We use them only to reply to you, arrange a Lunch&Learn, send an information pack or follow up on a story you’ve shared.
- We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
- We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
What we collect and why
When you fill in one of our forms, we collect the information you enter:
- Lunch&Learn booking form: your name, work email, phone number (optional), organisation, preferred dates, format, expected number of attendees, location and any notes. We use this to arrange your session.
- Information pack request form: your name, email, organisation, type of organisation, audience size and the resources you’d like. We use this to send your pack and occasional updates about it.
- Contact form: your name, email, the topic and your message. We use this to reply to you.
- Share your story form: your name, email, your experience, the cancer or condition it relates to, your story, how you’d like it to appear and your contact preferences. We use this to read your story and contact you about it. We never publish a story, or any part of it, without your agreement, and you can ask us to change or remove it at any time.
Your story may include information about your health. This is special category data under UK GDPR, so we only use it with your explicit consent, which you give by ticking the consent box on the form, and we keep it secure and only accessible to our team.
Apart from the share your story form, please don’t include details about your own health in our forms. We can’t give personal medical advice. If you’re worried about your health, contact your GP or call NHS 111.
Our legal basis
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), we use the information you send us on the basis of your consent, which you give by ticking the box on each form. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, and we’ll delete your details.
CeeCee, our question assistant
CeeCee runs entirely in your web browser using a fixed set of approved answers. The questions you type into CeeCee are not sent to us or stored anywhere, and CeeCee does not use artificial intelligence services.
Cookies and similar technology
We don’t use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. If you use the light or dark mode button, your choice is saved in your own browser so the site remembers it next time. This stays on your device and isn’t sent to us. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Who else handles your information
- Netlify hosts this website and receives and stores form submissions on our behalf. Netlify is based in the United States and protects data transferred from the UK using approved safeguards. See Netlify’s privacy statement.
- Google Fonts provides the typeface used on this site. When a page loads, your browser requests the font from Google, which will see your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Our email provider receives a copy of each form submission so we can respond.
We don’t share your information with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions for up to 12 months after we last contacted you, then delete them. Stories you’ve agreed for us to publish are kept for as long as they appear on our website, and we delete them when you ask us to. If you’ve booked a Lunch&Learn, we may keep basic booking records for longer if we need them for accounting purposes.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that’s wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- withdraw your consent or object to how we use your information
- ask us to limit how we use your information, or to transfer it to you in a usable format
To use any of these rights, contact us through our Contact page. We’ll respond within one month.
Keeping your information safe
This website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and form submissions are only accessible to our team through a password-protected account.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
